From Cloverdale International PRESS RELEASE Podkovan Lager and Podkovan Dark Czech Beer Now Available in the U.S.

ALGONQUIN, IL and Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic, December 1, 2005 - Cloverdale International announced today the launch of Podkovan Lager and Podkovan Dark, its flagship beer brand from the Czech Republic.

Following great success in the Czech Republic, Italy, Israel and Poland, Podkovan Lager and Podkovan Dark are now available in select cities in the Midwest.

The Podkovan Brewery is the second-oldest brewery in the Czech Republic.  Located just 20 miles north of the capital city of Prague, the brewery lies in a protected natural region named Kokorin Valley, a region of sandstone and pines that is forever guarded by the twin-peaked Bezdez Mountain.

Production of Podkovan beer dates to 1434, when local monks brewed the lager to ensure they would have only the best beer for themselves. The tradition of brewing this premium lager has persisted to this day through the use of only the finest Czech hops and malts combined with the country’s pure and natural spring water.

Commenting on the event, Craig Hurley, Cloverdale International’s President and CEO, said: “The launch of Podkovan Lager and Podkovan Dark today marks a significant step in extending the brand’s reach to one of the most important beer markets in the world.  Award winning Podkovan Lager will appeal to beer drinkers as one of the finest examples of an authentic Czech beer with great taste that is still produced in the Czech Republic.”

Podkovan Lager and Podkovan Dark are currently available in Illinois, Indiana and Iowa in 16.9-ounce bottles and 20-bottle cases and in early 2006 will be available in Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Hurley describes Podkovan Lager as a bold, but hoppy traditional Czech golden pilsner at 4.7% alcohol by volume, while Podkovan Dark is light in texture and smooth to drink despite its dark color and rich caramel aroma while brewed with 3.8% alcohol by volume.
